GreenPoint Rated's New Home system is most effective when integrated from the very beginning of the design process. A GreenPoint Rater will work with the design and construction team to identify sustainable and best management practices from measures pursued from conception through construction. The system was last updated in 2020 and is available for National and California-specific single family and multi-family new construction projects.

Pre-requisites for National (non-California) GreenPoint Rated multifamily include:
- A GreenPoint Rated National New Home Single Family system is not yet available.
GreenPoint Rated New Home California has been aligned with the 2019 California Energy Code and the required green measures outlined in CalGreen, California’s unique sustainability code that incorporates efficiency features that help improve the occupants’ health, comfort, and the home’s holistic environmental footprint.
All same requirements as multifamily, except does not require warranty on shingle roof.
